Ta Xua has become a popular destination in Northwest Vietnam in recent years, especially among young Vietnamese travelers and students. Located at an altitude of more than 1,500 meters above sea level, this small town has a cool climate throughout the year, making it feel like a smaller version of Sapa. Its high location and open views over the surrounding areas allow visitors to enjoy spectacular views of the mountains, villages, and terraced rice fields.

Visitors come here to enjoy the beautiful and relatively untouched mountain scenery, but also to go “cloud hunting” – coming here to take photos or videos of the large clouds that constantly move, appear, and disappear with the unpredictable winds. The clouds are not always there, and the weather is not always favorable, so cloud hunting is partly a matter of luck, which makes it even more interesting and exciting.

Besides the weather and scenery, Ta Xua has another valuable gem: Ta Xua Dinosaur Spine. This is a short trail of nearly 2 km leading to a mountain ridge with an almost 360-degree view over a beautiful valley covered with terraced rice fields. Most visitors choose to walk there, but for bikers, this is a trail worth tackling on an off-road motorcycle. However, this section is not suitable for beginners, as it can be quite challenging.
